Cabaret Theatre Presents: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

October--the month of crisp fall weather, shorter days, pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween (free candy and costumes ftw) and CABARET THEATRE'S FIRST MAIN STAGE PRODUCTION OF THE SEASON! R U READY RUTGERS?

Remember reading Hamlet? Remember his two friends, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, whom he decided to kill off near the end because they were working for Claudius? Ever wanted to know what was actually going on on their end of the Bard's play?

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is an absurdist tragicomedy that develops two minor characters from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. The play follows the two courtiers on their farcical misadventures, while also including scenes directly from Hamlet in which Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are included. But they express their confusion about the series of events- the ones that occur in Hamlet- in which they are not present. They meet a troupe of Players, are commissioned by the Danish Royalty, and end up on a boat to England in an attempt to have Hamlet murdered.
